《權力的遊戲》(Game of Thrones)是一部中世紀史詩奇幻題材的美國電視連續劇，以美國作家喬治·R·R·馬丁的奇幻小說鉅作《冰與火之歌》系列爲基礎改編創作，劇名取自於小說系列第一卷的書名。
故事背景是一個虛構的世界，主要分爲兩片大陸，位於西面的是“日落國度”維斯特洛(Westeros)，面積約等於南美洲;位於東面的是一塊麪積、形狀近似於亞歐大陸的陸地。故事的主線便發生在維斯特洛大陸上。從國王勞勃·拜拉席恩前往此地拜訪他的好友臨冬城主、北境守護艾德·史塔克開始，漸漸展示了這片國度的全貌。單純的'國王，耿直的首相，各懷心思的大臣，擁兵自重的四方諸侯，全國僅靠着一根細弦維繫着表面的和平，而當絃斷之時，國家再度陷入無盡的戰亂之中。而更讓人驚悚的是，那些遠古的傳說和早已滅絕的生物，正重新回到這片土地。
