死亡詩社，外文名Dead Poets Society，又譯爲春風化雨;暴雨驕陽，是由羅賓·威廉姆斯、伊桑·霍克以及羅伯特·肖恩·萊納德主演的一部勵志電影，故事講述的是一個有思想的老師和一羣希望突破的學生之間的故事。

威爾頓預科學院一向都是以傳統、守舊的方法來教授學生，可是新學期來校的新文學老師基廷卻一改學校的常規，讓自己班上的學生們解放思想，充分發揮學生們的能力。告訴學生們要“把握當下”，並以該原則行事。在教學的第一堂課上，基廷並沒有在教室裏上課，
而是領同學們看校史樓內的照片，讓他們去聆聽死者的聲音，並去領悟生命的真諦。[4] 基廷甚至要求學生將課本中古板老套的內容撕去，自由的教學方式讓學生開始懂得自己的興趣、愛好、前途和目標。他的學生們甚至於反抗學校的禁令，重新成立基廷曾於該校學生時代參與過的祕密小組——死亡詩社，在校外很遠的山洞中探討詩歌、人生。但不久後，學校發現這個小組，校方對基廷老師教育方法十分反對。[5]
基廷的學生尼爾熱愛表演，並在一次演出上大獲成功。但他父親堅決反對，並將他帶回家決定第二天讓其轉學。尼爾極度痛苦卻無法傾訴，在當晚自殺了。小組成員之一卡梅隆出賣了他們。校方逼小組成員在聲明上簽字，將責任推卸於基廷身上，將他開除出學校。在老師要離開學校的時候，學生們站立在桌上，並說着“哦，船長，我的船長!”，以表達老師傳達給他們的信念會在他們心中一直存在着。

“及時行樂，讓你的生命超凡脫俗。”“詩歌、美麗、浪漫、愛情，纔是我們活着的意義”，這不是蠱惑，而是啓示和指引，人的生命只有一次，能夠把握自己的命運，“吸取生命中所有的精華，把非生命的一切都擊潰，以免當我生命終結，發現自己從沒有活過。”影片中，酷愛表演的尼爾無法擺脫嚴厲父親的禁錮，終於用極端方式實現了自由之夢。而船長約翰•基廷老師，也影響了影片之外的千千萬萬的人。他溫和、儒雅，卻熾熱如火;他幽默、博學，獲得了學生們由衷的尊敬。當他因爲尼爾之死被學校當替罪羊開除離開之際，學生們跳上課桌，高喊：“船長，我的船長。”看到這一幕，相信每個人都會心情激盪。
